Happy New Year 2015!
Happy New Year and good tidings and wishes for all!
We all survived a hectic and busy year. Olivia is on her last year of preschool. She’s doing well and having a great time. Some big firsts for Olivia this year include: learning to write – she says it’s her biggest accomplishment of the year – she also got her first (and second) Barbie (thanks Uncle Jack) and has really gotten into drawing, drawing, and more drawing. She had her first tap and ballet recital just before Christmas and is getting better and better with her swimming classes, even though she still doesn’t like to get her face wet (!) At the beach, she got hit and taken down by a wave for the first time, which she thought was hilarious. She’s also discovered the ‘Magic of Friendship’ (and merchandising) though ‘My Little Pony’.
Andillon is still at UCSD and was recently elected President of her professional association. After a long two years of no writing, she’s back writing poems. Baby steps. She’s still doing yoga weekly and going for more fitness this year. 2015 will be the year of the smoothie! And for those of you who know her parents, her Dad hit 90 this year. We went to Philly and had a very Italian dinner at a lovely restaurant – tasty and delicious, but we may have been the only non-Mob dinner goers there. Andillon’s Mom is doing well at 86. We visited them for Thanksgiving and they came out here for Christmas.
Bob has had a very busy year as well. He’s still teaching design, drawing and painting at Gnomon and Art Center. About two years ago, an art and design publisher asked him if he would consider writing a book on perspective for them - it was an amazing (and grueling) opportunity for him. He finally wrapped things up late fall and the book is coming out within days. We’re all excited; he’s proud of the book and at the same time glad it’s over. It was a lot of work - it’s nice that things are finally getting back to normal. Andillon thought it would be a good idea to include a link to the book, and Bob reluctantly agreed. It does make a wonderful sleep-aid (after all, it’s a book about perspective)!
Daisy the dog is also doing well – walks, the park, some baths and a few haircuts. It’s a dog’s – our dog’s – life. After dark, she’s always on the lookout, hoping to protect and save us from the occasional raccoon or possum loitering in the backyard.
We hope you have a great 2015!
Love,
Andillon, Bob, Olivia and Daisy
